The goal of the culinary arts apprenticeship is to give teens exposure to the foodservice/hospitality industry in a real world environment by exposing them to various culinary techniques and methods; giving teens job readiness and soft skills training; providing access to post secondary information, scholarship opportunities and ultimately supplying life skills to use through high school and beyond. During each of the program sessions teens will work on basic culinary skill and techniques, returning apprentices will have the opportunity to be assigned a lead chef position which will give them the chance to show leadership skills and work on advance culinary techniques. The apprentices will create a cookbook based on their own original recipes; some of these recipes will be showcased in a closing banquet at the end of each program session for invited family and members of the community.Spring 2016ActiveGalleryCulinary ArtFood Preparation and PlatingWork alongside top chefs and prepare nutritious recipes that you can prepare on any budget and receive an award.Over the summer the Apprentices will volunteer with partnering nonprofit organizations to earn service learning hours and a fundamental understanding of 'giving back'.
